About ConsimWorldWelcome to ConsimWorld — the official conflict simulation gaming news and discussion site covering the historical boardgaming industry. The mission of ConsimWorld.COM is to promote the historical boardgaming industry and each publishers' respective efforts. To ensure that we provide you with the most comprehensive coverage on the Web, we offer active participation from publishers as our guests who are committed to providing the latest company updates and product information. Most of these publishers can also be found online at our community Discussion Board. The concept behind this site was created with the premiere of the Consim Connections newsletter, released in 1998. This was a monthly, subscription based email digest; a one-stop shop concept for historical gaming information. Feedback was overwhelming to expand the digest to a comprehensive web site ("why must we wait every four weeks to receive the latest news when we could potentially "hit" a site everyday"). Point well taken. Towards this end, visitors of ConsimWorld will be greeted at our Home Page with the leading news stories of the day. Given our recent site redesign, made possible by member contributions, one will now find many navigation options to help you find the latest information. You can view news stories by date, by story type, or by publisher. You can also comment on news stories published, and the left navigation area will display the ten most recent stories posted, as well as the ten most recent product releases. We are presently still working to complete the site redesign, so expect minor enhancements and changes to come. If ConsimWorld.COM had a heart and soul, ours would undoubtedly be rooted in our community Forum, which generates 125,000 page views daily with hundreds of topics. We began operation of our online Discussion Board some five years ago, under the name "Virtual Wargamer Headquarters". From its humble beginning to offer an alternative to AOL and sanctuary from GEnie (due to a price hike that drove members away), results have exceeded our wildest expectations. Rather than being viewed as an "alternative" to AOL or other online forms of communication, we have grown in size to nearly 15,000 registered members to what many consider the premiere talk site for historical gaming. We thank everyone for their support and patronage. ConsimWorld.COM exists today because our members seek timely, comprehensive coverage of the historical gaming industry...and without the hassle of spending hours and days online trying to search out the latest news. Publishers have joined as our guest because they realize how critical an open line of communications is to their customers and prospects. This is a perfect match, and one of the key reasons behind our past success which we look forward to continuing here. In closing, I'd like to welcome those of you who are new to historical gaming and want to learn more about it. You've come to the right place. If you have even the slightest passing interest in history, you will quickly discover how captivating it is to recreate history through gaming simulations. Equally, for the experienced "grognards" among us, we hope you find ConsimWorld.COM captures the essence of what makes historical gaming such an enjoyable past time. Respectfully,
P.S. I encourage you to submit Feedback to help us make certain you are satisfied with the services offered at ConsimWorld.COM. |
